Andrei Galkin and his wife Oksana, have two daughters, Ksenia and Aliona. Andrei holds weekly services in both boys and girls youth prisons in the Moscow area. He is also in charge distributing Christian books supplied by EEO to other prison ministers who in turn give them to prisoners. He also makes special trips throughout Russia to share the Gospel with inmates.
Andrei played an important role in the recent “Great Expedition,” an evangelistic outreach to share the Gospel with inmates in 600 different prisons in Russia over the course of a year. The team he led covered over 4,000 miles in the remote Tyumen-Tomsk-Kemerovo region.
More recently he has reported how a multiple murderer came to Christ during a preaching campaign in the central region of Russia. Andrei is based out of a local church in Moscow, he is an ex-prisoner himself, and he has a large and fruitful ministry in Russian prisons.
He said, “In Tyumen we once covered hundreds of kilometers without meeting any people on the way. Then we met a group of oil industry workers. A short Christian meeting was organized. The workers heard about Jesus Christ, about the Expedition and were given New Testaments. The workers were so excited they didn’t not want to let us go.”
Andrei shares the Gospel with real joy. He said, “Perhaps the highlight of the journey for me was when 200 people from one maximum security prison were allowed to meet the missionaries, and after a time song and testimonies, 80 men prayed to receive Jesus into their lives.”
