Hope Remains

For needy families and children in Ukraine, the support of a sponsor is vital to their survival as a family. Mothers do not give their children up to an orphanage in despair, simply due to the love and support of having a sponsor. In this newsletter we learn about Luba's story. If you too would like to help a needy child,  please know that your sponsorship will help keep a child together with their family. Learn more about sponsorship here.

Hope Remains - Sloshing through the muddy snow covered road, it felt surreal, like a scene from the Boris Pasternak novel, “Dr. Zhivago.”

A Pastor Who Lives What He Preaches

4-10NLstory

Pastor Sasha Ozeruga lives what he preaches in his church, not just through the many ministries he runs but in his own family life.

“This is really hard and it’s impossible to keep a 100% balance to live the life that you preach.  But I’m doing my best,” explains Sasha, who’s humble and compassionate nature attracts so many downtrodden people to his ministry.

Sasha’s grandfather and his parents all went to prison for their Christian faith, which is why he believes, as a third generation Christian, it’s very important to carry on that heritage.

As well as leading a thriving and growing church, an orphanage, an EEO sponsored ministry center and a convalescent home for the elderly, pastor Sasha has brought two orphans into his family along with his own six children, eight-year-old Mariam and Sasha, who’s 19.

“I have special feelings about orphans since my childhood,” explains Sasha as he sits in his modest living room, with his proud wife next to him and his children quietly and happily looking on.  Despite Sasha’s busy life, his home and his family appear very calm and content.
